Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their Leaders from Beauvale Scout District made their way to the Embankment to run the Sport Relief mile on Sunday 16^th March 2008, and raised over £200 for Sport Relief.

 
It was a cold and windy morning down by the Embankment but that didn’t stop our determination.  Sport Relief is about raising money to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both at home and in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

 
Alan Wood, District Explorer Scout Commissioner said that ‘Scouting is all about fun and helping other people, by doing the mile we combined the two; Sport Relief aims to make a difference and change people’s lives for the better.  People are supportive of Scouting and we are always keen to give something back’.
