Welcome to Beauvale District!

We cover an area in Nottinghamshire stretching from Nuthall (near J26 of the M1) to Brinsley (near J27 of the M1) and out to the Derbyshire border. There are 6 groups in the District, more information can be found on the Groups section of this site. The District has a highly successful Activities Team which offers a range of activities and arranges a large part of the District calendar each year.

Centenary Fun Day - Wacky Races
Written by Chris Clifford
Sunday, 24 June 2007

On Saturday 23rd June 2007, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 3rd Eastwood, 1st Greasley and 2nd Kimberley Groups and representatives from Buccaneer Explorers attended the County Centenary Wacky Races Fun Day at the Harvey Haddon Stadium, Nottingham.  Fortunately the rain held off - just as well because we obviously run faster in good to firm conditions.

The Beavers from Kimberley won the Beaver event and the scouts from Eastwood came third in the scout event, not forgetting the scouts from Greasley and Buccaneer Explorers who gave their all.  In fact at one point it looked like Greasley would pose a giant headache, two teams - one car and the prospect of both teams making the final.

Well done to each and every one of you.  You were a credit to your Groups, the District and the Scout Movement as a whole in your attitude and behaviour, but more importantly you were a credit to yourselves.

Dawson L. Saxton,

District Commissioner.
